Terms of Use

Last updated October 30, 2026

Use Screen Gist to summarize content you're allowed to watch or listen to. Credits are prepaid, charged by the second, and don't expire. Paddle sells the credits as merchant of record.

Using Screen Gist

  • You may use Screen Gist for personal and work use, on content you have the right to access.
  • Don't use it to break the law, to record people where that requires their consent and you don't have it, or to get around copy protection.
  • Don't try to misuse the service, for example by reselling credits, abusing free credits, or reverse-engineering the server.

Credits

  • Credits are bought in packs and charged by the second while you record or summarize a file, at the rates shown in the app and on the pricing page.
  • Credits don't expire and have no cash value. Free starter credits are given once per Mac.
  • Purchases are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. See the refund policy.
  • We may change rates for future use; credits you've already bought keep their value in credits.

Payments

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Summaries

Summaries are written by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important against the source.

Availability

We work to keep Screen Gist running, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid for credits in the last 12 months.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version.
