Summarize Zoom, Meet and Teams calls on a Mac, with no bot

To summarize a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams call on a Mac without a bot joining, capture it on your own computer. With Screen Gist, pick the call's window, turn on "Include my microphone" and press Start. When the call ends, press Stop for a summary with speakers, decisions and what was on the shared screen.

How to do it

  1. Join the call as usual

    Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Webex or FaceTime.

  2. Pick the call's window and include your microphone

    Wear headphones so the other side isn't heard twice. Press Start.

  3. Press Stop when the call ends

    Get an overview, timed chapters, the transcript with speakers, and what was shared on screen.

Why no bot

Meeting bots join as a participant, need permission from the host, and make some people uneasy. Screen Gist works from your Mac: it hears the call the way your speakers do and sees the shared screen in the window. Nothing joins the meeting.

Shared screens are included

When someone shares slides, a dashboard or a demo, Screen Gist reads and describes it, so the numbers on the slide end up in your notes, not just "as you can see here".

Be open about it

Recording and transcribing conversations is regulated in many places. Tell people you're taking AI notes, the same as you would with any recorder.

Does Screen Gist join my Zoom meeting?

No. It runs on your Mac and captures the call's window and sound. No bot or extra participant appears.

Does it include what I say?

Yes, when you turn on "Include my microphone". Both sides go into one transcript, with speakers told apart.

Does it work with Google Meet and Teams in the browser?

Yes. Pick the browser window that has the call.

How much does a one-hour meeting cost?
