Questions

Is there a subscription?

No. You buy a pack of credits once and spend them as you go. Credits never expire.

How are credits charged?

By the second, only while you record: 1 credit a minute for sound only, 2 for Standard and 3 for High. A video or audio file costs its length. If you switch to sound only during a recording, the rest is charged at the sound rate.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. A new Mac gets 50 free credits, about 25 minutes of Standard video, with no card needed.

What if a summary fails?

If the summary can't be written because of a problem on our side, that recording costs nothing. Screen Gist tells you, and no credits are taken.

What happens when I run out?

Screen Gist warns you about two minutes before. If credits run out mid-recording, it stops and still summarizes what was recorded.

Who handles payments?

Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, tax and invoices; Screen Gist never sees your card.

Can I get a refund?

No, credit packs are non-refundable, which is why every new Mac gets free credits to try it first. If a summary can't be written because of a problem on our side, that recording costs nothing, automatically. See the refund policy.
